Meet Dr. Arnett

Dr. Stacey Arnett’s family came West to Colorado in the 1840s and she was born and raised in Boulder County.  In fact, her great-great-grandfather donated land to build the University of Colorado at Boulder, where she earned her Ph.D. in Educational Psychology. With over twenty-five years in the mental health field, she has experience as a psychotherapist, hypnotherapist and as a therapist for trauma using EMDR and Brainspotting, a newer, often more effective technique. She has worked in government agencies and in private practice, both in Colorado and on the South Pacific islands of Pohnpei and Guam, where her clients were culturally and ethnically diverse. She has also worked as a School Psychologist, and in the South Pacific co-hosted a NPR radio program called “Positive Parenting.”  In addition to hypnotherapy, EMD/Brainspotting and individual and group therapy, she offers parent consultation for those seeking guidance in understanding and facilitating child and family development. Currently, in addition to her practice in hypnotherapy, trauma therapy and psychotherapy, Dr. Arnett serves as an ADD Coach for children and adults. As a meditator (Vipassna) who has experienced many personal changes and seen great changes in her clients, Dr. Arnett believes that the brain is truly "plastic" and that, given the opportunity and the tools, it can physically change, restructure and, by so doing, help heal itself.

Dr. Arnett is married and has two children.  Chell currently teaches English in Austria on a Fulbright fellowship and Claire is a freshman at Colorado College. Her husband, Phil, is a freelance writer.  They live  in Longmont.
